Admissions

Few decisions have the lasting impact on your child as that of school choice. It is during their school days that life-long friendships will be made, spiritual formation will take place, and values will be instilled. As a private school in Brandon, Florida, Grace Christian School is here to partner with you in making those days the very best that they can be. GCS exists today because parents like you found it important to educate their children in a safe, secure, college-preparatory environment that instills values, helps develop character, and cultivates wisdom manifested through academic excellence.

Our families made an eternal investment in their children by choosing Christian education. At all grade levels, the curriculum and classroom instruction is focused on maximizing individual student achievement and developing strength of character. Your child will benefit from state-of-the-art technology-enhanced learning, an outstanding athletic facility, modern classrooms and labs, and comprehensive sports, fine arts, and service programs.

We hope that you will find the information on this site to be helpful. We would enjoy the opportunity to show you our impressive campus in person. To schedule a tour, attend an Open House, or if we can provide you with more information on why it is great to be a part of Grace Christian School, feel free to contact us or fill out an inquiry and we will reach out to you.

We look forward to meeting with you and your family soon!

Admissions Process

  1. Take a school tour and have informal interview
  2. If invited to apply after tour, apply for admission online.
  3. Provide paperwork and transcripts or report cards.

The Admissions Committee evaluates applicants on the basis of the application, the candidate’s record, teacher recommendation, interviews and admissions tests. In considering applicants, the Admissions Committee evaluates a student’s talents, academic skills, personal interests, motivation to learn and desire to attend Grace Christian School. Special consideration is given to qualified children of faculty and/or alumni/ae, as well as qualified siblings of GCS students.

Grace Christian School admits students of any race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin in the administration of our educational and admission policies or in scholarship, athletic, and other programs.

International Students

Grace Christian School welcomes international applicants of all ages into our dynamic educational environment. Our community prides itself on its welcoming nature and its commitment to helping students and families from all backgrounds transition smoothly to Grace Christian School. Some of our international students reside with their families, while others live with a host family.

There are two admissions options for International students. VISITING STUDENTS are applicants seeking to spend one year or less at GCS. FULL-TIME STUDENTS enroll for at least two years with the goal of earning a GCS diploma. Admissions decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. We encourage international families to contact us with questions.

Students applying for grades 9-12 should provide:

  • 3 years of academic transcripts, both in original language and with official notarized English translations
  • TOEFL scores, for proof of English proficiency
  • High school applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient proficiency in English to be successful in our college-preparatory curriculum. In lieu of a personal visit, the school may request a video conference with the student prior to making an admissions decision.
  • F-1 Visa/I-20 Form

In most cases, international students will need an I-20 form in order to obtain an F-1 visa to enter the United States. Grace Christian School is authorized by the United States Department of Homeland Security to issue an I-20 form after a student has been accepted for enrollment. International students must pay tuition fees in two equal payments (Aug 1 and January 1).

Tuition vs. Actual Cost:

Student tuition is less than the actual cost to educate each student at Grace Christian School. The actual cost per student is based on the core expenses of operating the school: faculty and staff salaries, supplies, and day-to-day operational expenses.

GCS’s tuition is well below the actual cost to educate each student due to the school’s ongoing effort to help outstanding Christian education remain within the reach of our students. Each year the generosity of GCS’s families, alumni, and community friends helps to close the considerable gap between the rate charged and the actual cost to educate each student.

Please visit the Support GCS area of our website to see how you can help make outstanding Christian education become a reality for students.
